Directions to Athletic/Scholastic Events

Click on http://www.schooldirections.com/ks_school_directions.htm for directions to all public and private middle and high schools and colleges in Kansas.  Please note that some of our athletic games may not be played at the individual school, but at a different location in the town.  This website will at least get you to the town and school.  It also lists a phone number for more information.

School Ca$h Program--Register your Country Mart card now!

School Ca$h is a program that helps our schools earn cash by recycling or through our every day shopping.  Save your used cell phones and printer cartridges and bring them to the school office. Remember catalogues, newspapers, and now plastic and cardboard can be recycled too. Put them in the Deffenbaugh containers behind Imac or any Catholic church in the area.  Every little bit helps!

Countrymart once again is offering the Country Mart Educational Fund for local schools to earn money. Please register your card again by going online to www.mycountrymart.com, click on the Community Programs box and follow the Customer Enrollment link.  Or just call Luisa Metivier in the Development Office at (913) 682-7801.  We will receive over $2600 for the shopping our supporters have done at Country Mart this Fall!

Target has a Target Visa Card.  Use the card and designate our schools as your choice and we will receive a 1% rebate on your purchases.

Onecause.com is an online shopping site.  It funds a customer’s school by channeling your online purchases to well known merchants and service providers who contribute a percentage of every purchase back to our school. Register and start shopping. If you shop online frequently, please check this website first, you may find the merchant you use often and could be helping our schools.  There is a huge list of merchants such as Amazon, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Disney, Dick’s, etc. and we could even receive rebates on gift cards for iTunes or Nordstrom.  You do not pay more for shopping through Onecause.com!

Save
laser and ink jet cartridges and send into the school office.  Bring paper, cardboard and now plastic to the Deffenbaugh container behind Imac or by the Leavenworth/Lansing Catholic Churches. The schools receive a check of $1200/yr. for this!  (Check the side of the container for all the items that are allowed for recycling!)

Aluminum cans will be picked up by Xavier parents the second Friday of each month.  Bring before 8am to Imac and leave next to the Deffenbaugh container behind Imac.  Be careful not to leave them in the alley.

Future Building Plans

From the desk of the Director:
UPDATE: January 26

FEASIBILITY STUDY
The purpose of the feasibility study is to determine if our community is capable of raising the funds required to build a consolidated Catholic grade school.  A questionnaire is being mailed out this week to all school families, parishioners of all of our regional parishes, alumni and community leaders.  We ask that you prayfully consider your answers in completing the questionnaire.

BACKGROUD

The LRCS Strategic Planning Committee was formed in the fall of 2007. It is a sub committee of our school board. After speaking to principals, teachers and examining the budget, it became clear that a consolidated facility was needed. To build a new consolidated school building became our objective 4 of the strategic plan. The goal and objectives for that plan are outlined in the letter to the archbishop.

A significant amount of research was undertaken before Archbishop Naumann could be approached for approval to conduct a feasibility study for the school.   We have recently received his approval for the feasibility study and this is where we need your help!

The purpose of the feasibility study is to determine if our community is capable of raising the funds required to build a consolidated Catholic grade school in Leavenworth. A questionnaire will go out in January to all school families, parishioners of all of our regional parishes, alumni and community leaders. We ask that you prayerfully consider your answers in completing the questionnaire.

For full details on our progress towards this objective, please review the documents that are listed below;

God Bless you all for your continued support as we move forward in our mission to educate our children in our Catholic Faith through Catholic Education in Leavenworth.

Respectfully,
Barbara H. Ferrara, Director, Leavenworth Regional Catholic Schools
